Healing Is More Than What You Protect Yourself From

Healing Is More Than What You Protect Yourself From

If you've been following Healing with H'armani, you may already know that our pieces are created with meaning in mind. From the colors we choose to the symbolism behind each piece, there is often a deeper message beneath what you see.

Recently, we talked about the meaning behind the evil eye and why it has become such a meaningful symbol for so many people.

For some, the evil eye represents protection.

Protection from negativity.

Protection from unwanted energy.

Protection of your peace.

And while protecting your energy is important, there is something else I've been thinking about.

What happens after you decide to protect your peace? What happens when you begin paying closer attention to the things, people, and situations that affect your energy? What happens when you start recognizing the patterns that leave you feeling drained? What happens when you realize that protecting yourself from what is around you is only one part of the journey?

Because the truth is...Healing is more than what you protect yourself from. Sometimes, healing requires us to look within. And that's where The Healing Process begins.

Protection Is Important, But So Is Looking Within

There comes a point when you begin to understand the importance of protecting your energy.

You may become more intentional about who you allow into your life.

You may begin setting boundaries.

You may start paying attention to how certain people make you feel.

You may distance yourself from negativity.

You may learn that saying no doesn't make you selfish.

You may realize that peace is something worth protecting.

These are all important parts of growth. But healing isn't only about recognizing what is outside of you. Sometimes, the deeper work begins when you start asking yourself what is happening within you.

Why does this situation affect me the way it does?

Why do I keep returning to things that I know aren't good for me?

Why do I struggle to set boundaries?

Why do I feel guilty when I choose myself?

Why do I continue to accept less than I deserve?

Why am I still carrying something that happened years ago?

Those questions aren't always easy to answer. But sometimes, the questions we avoid are the very questions that help us understand ourselves better.

The Healing Process Is Personal

Healing isn't one-size-fits-all. There isn't a specific timeline. There isn't a list of steps that works exactly the same way for everyone. And there isn't a moment when you suddenly wake up and have everything figured out.

For some people, healing begins after a major life experience.

For others, it begins quietly.

Maybe you simply become tired of repeating the same patterns.

Maybe you begin questioning the relationships in your life.

Maybe you realize that you've spent so much time taking care of everyone else that you no longer know what you need.

Maybe you're learning how to set boundaries.

Maybe you're learning how to trust yourself.

Maybe you're trying to let go of something—or someone.

Or maybe you don't even know exactly what you're healing from.

You just know that something inside of you needs attention. And that's okay. You don't have to have all the answers to begin. Sometimes, healing begins with simply being honest about where you are.

Healing Isn't Always Beautiful

We often hear about the beautiful side of healing: The peace. The confidence. The growth.

The new beginning. And yes, healing can bring all of those things. But there is another side of healing that isn't always talked about.

Healing can be uncomfortable.

It can require you to acknowledge things you would rather forget.

It can require you to let go of people you thought would always be in your life.

It can make you question old beliefs.

It can require you to take responsibility for patterns you want to change.

It can bring emotions to the surface that you thought you had already dealt with.

Sometimes, healing means realizing that the version of yourself you've been protecting is no longer the version of yourself you want to be.

And that can be difficult. But difficult doesn't mean wrong.

Sometimes, growth feels uncomfortable because you're moving beyond what is familiar.

You Can Protect Your Peace and Still Have Healing to Do

Protecting your peace doesn't mean that you will never feel pain. Setting boundaries doesn't mean you will never struggle with guilt. Walking away from negativity doesn't mean you will immediately feel whole. Choosing yourself doesn't mean that you suddenly stop questioning your decisions.

Wearing a meaningful symbol of protection doesn't mean that all of life's challenges disappear. The evil eye can serve as a reminder.

A reminder to be intentional.

A reminder to protect your energy.

A reminder to pay attention to what you allow into your space.

But the journey doesn't stop there.

Because eventually, we may have to look beyond what we're protecting ourselves from and ask:

What am I still carrying?

What am I still avoiding?

What do I need to release?

What patterns do I want to change?

Who am I becoming?

Those questions are part of the healing process, too.

Introducing The Healing Process

The Healing Process was created as a space for those questions. This blog is an extension of the heart behind Healing with H'armani.

Yes, Healing with H'armani offers meaningful pieces that can serve as personal reminders along your journey. But this brand has always been about something deeper.

  • It's about the journey.
  • It's about growth.
  •  It's about learning.
  •  It's about becoming more aware of yourself.
  •  It's about giving yourself permission to change.
  • It's about understanding that healing doesn't happen overnight.
  • It’s about recognizing that you are allowed to grow at your own pace.

The Healing Process is a space where we can talk about the parts of healing that aren't always easy to explain.

  • The moments when you realize you're changing
  • The relationships you've outgrown.
  • The boundaries you're learning to create.
  • The patterns you're beginning to recognize.
  • The things you're learning to release
  • The moments when you're choosing yourself, even when it feels uncomfortable.
  • The days when you feel like you're making progress.
  • And the days when you feel like you're starting all over again.

Because the truth is, healing isn't always a straight line. And sometimes, knowing that someone else understands makes the journey feel a little less lonely.

This Space Is for You

Maybe you're in the beginning stages of your healing journey.

Maybe you've been doing the work for years.

Maybe you're somewhere in between.

Maybe you're healing from something you can name.

Or maybe you're still trying to understand why you feel the way you do.

Wherever you are, this space is for you. This isn't a space that expects you to have everything figured out.

You don't have to be perfectly healed. You don't have to be positive all the time.

You don't have to pretend that growth is easy.

You can learn. You can ask questions. You can change. You can figure things out.

You can be healing.

One day at a time.

What You Can Expect from The Healing Process

Here, we'll explore conversations surrounding:

  • Self-reflection: Taking the time to understand your thoughts, feelings, patterns, and experiences.
  • Personal growth: Learning who you are and giving yourself permission to grow beyond who you used to be.
  •  Boundaries: Understanding that protecting your peace and honoring your needs isn't selfish.
  • Self-worth: Recognizing what you deserve and learning to stop accepting less.
  • Letting go: Making space for what is meant for everyone releasing what no longer serves them.
  • Relationships: Understanding the connections we create with others—and the relationship we have with ourselves.
  • Becoming: Learning to embrace the person you are growing into.

And most importantly, honesty will be spoken.

Because healing isn't about pretending that everything is perfect. It's about becoming honest enough with yourself to recognize what needs your attention.

This Is a Conversation, not a Lecture

One thing I want you to know about The Healing Process is that this isn't meant to be a place where someone tells you exactly how to live your life. Your journey is your own. What works for one person may not work for another. Instead, I want this to be a space for reflection and conversation.

  • A place where you can read something and pause.
  • A place where a question makes you think.
  • A place where you recognize yourself in someone else's experience.
  • A place where you can say: “I've felt that way, too.”

Because sometimes, that realization is powerful. Sometimes, knowing that you aren't alone changes everything.

Your experiences matter. Your perspective matters. And your story may help someone else feel seen.

So, as we begin this journey together, I don't just want you to read.

I want you to reflect.

I want you to ask questions.

I want you to share when you feel comfortable.

I want this to be a conversation.

So, Where Do We Begin?

We begin where we are. Not where we think we should be. Not where someone else is.

Not where social media tells us we should be. Where we are.

Maybe you're tired.

Maybe you're ready for change.

Maybe you're learning to protect your peace.

Maybe you're beginning to recognize patterns you want to break.

Maybe you're learning to choose yourself.

Maybe you're still trying to figure everything out.

That's okay.

You don't need to have your entire journey planned before you begin. You don't need all the answers. And you don't need to be completely ready. Sometimes, the first step is simply acknowledging: “I want something different for myself.”

Maybe that's enough for today.

Let's Begin the Conversation

Before you leave, I want to ask you something: What does healing mean to you right now?

Not what you think healing is supposed to mean. Not what someone else has told you healing should look like.

What does it mean to you?

  •  Maybe healing means learning to let go.
  • Maybe it means forgiving yourself.
  • Maybe it means setting boundaries.
  • Maybe it means finding peace.
  • Maybe it means becoming someone you recognize again.
  • Maybe you're still trying to figure out what healing looks like for you.

Whatever your answer is, I invite you to share it in the comments. You never know who may read your words and realize: “I'm not the only one.”

Welcome to The Healing Process

The evil eye may serve as a reminder to protect your energy. But healing asks us to go deeper. It asks us to look within.

To become aware.

To reflect.

To grow.

To release.

To forgive.

To learn.

And sometimes, to begin again.

This isn’t about rushing the process, becoming perfect, or pretending that healing is easy.

This is about taking one honest step at a time.

Welcome to The Healing Process.

A space to reflect.

A space to grow.

A space to become.

And wherever you are on your journey—you are welcome here.
